Currently Working on Tabular Foundation Models

My latest obsession is tabular foundation models, and since October 2026 it’s also my job: I work on them as a Senior AI Scientist at SAP. Before that, I wrote “Tabular Foundation Models”, a short and opinionated guide to TabPFN and the tabular revolution. Models like these are pretrained on millions of datasets and make predictions through in-context learning, with no training or hyperparameter tuning on your task, and increasingly they beat the state-of-the-art.
